We visited the National Museum in Rome last week. Here was one of the interesting exhibits. Apparently when the Romans were excavating in order to build the Termini Train Station here in Rome, they came upon many ruins and a burial ground. They discovered this mummy, which they believe was an eight-year-old child. She was in a very decorated sarcophagus. I will have to do some more research on this because I have never heard of mummification in this area of the world!
