Ancient Mosaics

When we went to Pompeii yesterday, we found that many of the houses had mosaic flooring. A mosaic is a bunch of colored tiles or small, flat pieces of colored stone put together to make a picture or design. Most of the mosaics we saw were in designs. Here is a photo of a mosaic we saw. It is a picture of three birds and some kind of casket. We also saw a picture of a dog, but the photo didn't come out. I hope I see some more mosaics soon.
